The Human Canvas seeks to explore the many ways in which the body can be an integral component of art.

It can be as simple and elegant as the unadorned figure, or any of the almost limitless uses of the body as a canvas on which art is presented, or incorporated, including creations using fabric and textiles, body modifications,  tattoos, and much more.

The exhibition is open to all domestic and international, professional and amateur photographers working with digital or traditional photography or combinations of both.

Vote for Your Favorite Capital One Photo

Published by CLS under Photo Contests

The Capital One Newsweek American Life Photo Contest received over 15,000 photo entries – all unique depictions of American Life moments from individuals all over the country.  The submission period has now closed and public voting has begun!  From January 6, 2009 – February 6, 2009, people can vote for their favorite image at www.capitalonephotocontest.com.  In addition to voting for your own image, there is a Facebook application as well as a send-to-a-friend function to encourage others to vote for your image.

At the conclusion of public voting, Newsweek’s Simon Barnett, Director of Photography, will select three winners from the top 50 determined by the popular vote. The Grand Prize winner will be awarded $7,000, have his/her photo displayed as the featured image on Capital One’s Image Card site, and a trip to New York City for a private photo tutorial and overview of Newsweek’s Photo Department with Barnett.
